DoD's first Customer Experience Officer
Savan Kong is an award-winning executive whose career sits at the intersection of defense, technology, and human-centered design. He served as the Department of Defense's first Customer Experience Officer — leading enterprise-wide CX transformation for the nation's largest employer and earning the 2024 DefenseScoop Industry Leadership Award.
Before that role, Savan was General Manager at Rebellion Defense, where he built mission-critical software for national security. Earlier, as a Digital Service Expert at the Defense Digital Service, he led rapid-response programs including Project Rabbit and the Basic Optical Biometric Analysis effort.
Savan's private-sector career is equally unconventional. He was the first employee at Redfin and co-author of the patented interactive map-based real estate search technology. He has held senior roles at Amazon, Kareo, Conenza, and BlogTalkRadio — always focused on building products that serve people with clarity, purpose, and measurable impact.
